Question about where I got my hamster from!?

The day I was told I could get a hamster was an exciting day for me. I rushed to Petco and found the right hamster for me, though it took forever to chose one! I examined all the hamsters and one stuck out to me. There was a light grey hamster?! Something I have never seen before... Usually I see white and tan ones but a grey one? I wanted him because he was a one of a kind hamster. A few weeks after I bought him I had to run back to Petco to buy some more food and bedding. I was a little curious and looked at the hamsters before I left. There was another hamster that looked identical to my hamster at home! (The grey one) I was just curious do you think Petco is breeding the same hamsters over and over again using the same parents?
