My doctor HASN'T referred me for a screening?

ok so sounds like you need to go to another doc... You NEED to make sure they know how strongly you feel about it and YOU can request the mammogram. Its your money and if you want to get one and you feel worried I do not know why they would not let you get one!! lame. for some really good answers or a coach to talk to go to the susan g comen website and they can help you get one and possibly for free they are great!!! good luck and dont let your doc just ume things.
